Avoid laying your mask face-down on any surface. Dirt, salt, sand,
and other gritty substances may scratch the lens, reducing
visibility.

Thoroughly rinse your mask in clean, freshwater following each dive.
This removes salt/dirt residues from the mask that could degrade the
silicon over time. You also need to ensure that the mask is
completely dry before storing it in the hard case to minimize mold
and algae buildup.

Always store your mask in a hard case when not in use to protect it
from dirt and other abrasives. It is also a good idea to keep it in
its case while traveling, since baggage handlers at the airport or
bumpy roads can lead to unnecessary wear and tear. If a hard case
did not come with your mask, you may want to consider purchasing
one.
