What
program are the swim lessons based on?
Peachtree Dive
Center has created a unique swim program which includes the best
elements from popular programs such as the American Red Cross, Ellis
and PADI programs.
Back to top Are goggles required for swim lessons? No.Goggles are not required, however, we strongly recommend
goggles for children as they begin to learn to swim.
Often goggles will increase a child’s comfort, minimize eye
irritation, and aid in object retrieval from the pool bottom.
Back to top If my child uses goggles, will he/she
become dependent on goggles?
No.A child’s dependency on goggles is much less likely
especially as a child becomes comfortable and secure in a water
environment.
Back to top Why does my child need an evaluation
when he/she can’t swim? The evaluation is
required to determine which of the beginner level classes is most
appropriate for your child. We have three beginner levels so the evaluation process is
critical.
Back to top How soon can my child begin swim
lessons? Once your child
completes the swim evaluation and the level has been determined, you
can register for next available opening that is convenient for your
schedule.Our swim
lessons are year-round.
Back to top Can I change my child’s swim class once
I register? NO.All swim fees are non-fundable and non-transferable.There are no exceptions to this policy.
Back to top If my child is sick, can I schedule a
make-up lesson? No.Because our swim lessons on Monday –Thursday, and private
lessons are on Fridays, there is no provision for make-up lessons.Because our program is based upon the building of additional
skills on a strong foundation, your child will have other
opportunities to develop and practice the missed skills. Back to top Can I register my child for more than
one session? Yes.You can register your child for more than one session. However you will need to register your child for the same
level.We do not permit
registration into the next level until completion of the current
level. For example:You can register for Level I this session, and another Level
I next session.
Back to top What if I register my child for more
than one session of the same level and my child is ready for the
next level after one session?
Because our policy
does not allow transferring from one class to another, your child
will remain in the level in which registered, but the instructors
will challenge your child at the higher level.
Back to top How long will it take my child to learn
to swim? There is no set
schedule for a child to learn to swim. Each child learns at a different pace.It is not unusual for a child to repeat a level several times
before advancing to the next.
Back to top How soon will I know whether my child
needs to repeat this level or will advance to the next? You can ask the
instructors at any time during a swim session.Typically instructors know quickly whether or not the child
will be ready to advance to the next level, but occasionally it
might take two or three classes for the instructor to be certain.
Back to top Should I be afraid my child will be
disappointed about not passing their swim class? No.Every child will receive a certificate at the end of the swim
session.A certificate
indicating “completion” indicates that your child is prepared to
enter the next level.A
certificate indicating “participation” indicates that your child
needs to remain in the same level to further master skills before
advancement into the next level.
Back to top What is the youngest age for a child to
enter the program? A child must be
potty-trained to enter swim lessons.Infants and toddlers not potty-trained may join the Parent &
Tot program.
Back to top What does my child need for the Parent &
Tot Program? Cloth diapers and
rubber pants are required for children that are not potty trained. The use of swim diapers is NOT permitted in our pool.
Back to top What is the temperature of the water in
pool?
Our pool is
maintained at a constant 90 degrees year-round.
Back to top What time are the classes offered? The schedule will
vary from session to session.Typically during the winter months are classes are two days a
week (Monday & Wednesday OR Tuesday & Thursday) for the entire
month.During the
summer time (and holidays) classes are Monday thru Thursday for two
weeks.There is always
8 classes in a swim session.
